9 - good decisions JJ made.
3 - bad decisions JJ made.
6 - good defense or drops.

IMO, I saw more accuracy than I have seen in the past during the 2011 Spring Game. Was he were I’d like to see him as a passer? No. He probably won’t ever be a passer like Rohan Davey or Jamarcus Russell. I’m holding out hope that JJ will be improved this season and we can see our talent get the ball, so they can make plays.

at this point in his career, we shouldn't have to worry how well he did in a spring game.

Simon will be a beast. The last great tall CB that I can remember is Bobby Taylor. He played for Notre Dame and the Philadelphia Eagles. He had a very long career.

It was the goddamned spring fricking game for God's sake. It MEANS NOTHINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. Lots of QB's struggle in spring games...the defenses inherently have an advantage because they know the plays.

Those of you that put any amount of stock into what you see in the spring game should be eliminated from the herd for being so fricking stupid.

Get off the guy's back already and see how the new year goes.

The spring game offered us a chance to see the players competing in the closest thing to a regular game. JJ was mediocre at best--I saw little or no improvement. Remember, before the 2010 season, it was said he had a great spring & would be improved and he was not. I don't see much difference, even with a new OC.

Thank you. I was actually in the process of recording each pass and posting a youtube video breaking it down. We had a shite ton of drops by our TE and Simon made some great plays and Brooks some good ones.

YouTube cutup would be awesome. It would show how much credit for those poor completion numbers go elsewhere. People thinking he was the same in 2010 SG as 2011, need to take a closer look. He wasn't even in the same zip code in the 2010 SG. Lol. I'm just hoping to see use have a strong enough offense in 2011 that will be able to bale our defense out more offense and control the tempo of the game. We should be able to dictate the mood if the game with our offense.

it would be fun but i don't have the software to really be able to do it so i'm reduced to using an xbox, hdtv, and an iphone 4. Plus i have a lisp and the rant would make more fun of my speech impediment than paying actual attention to the video/commentary.

Well, he would have had to throw 4 more ints to reach the lowerest level that "bar" was ever place at in a spring scrimmage.

I'm more interested in how one ends the season than how one does in a scrimmage, but each to our own.

He completed about 57% of his passes last season and completed 27% of his passes in the Spring game. Must have just had an off day.

Not really. The coaches tend to keep everything very vanilla in spring games, especially ones that are nationally televised. We were trying to execuse basic plays, not really trying to "score" if that makes sense.

I agree. I think he might have been a little better than spring of '10, but certainly wasn't good.

True, but he really didn't have much time to work with the new OC before the spring game. There were only a couple of months between the end of the season and spring practice. There will be almost twice that amount of time between the spring and September. Plenty of time for a little more improvement. I'm not drinking the JJ koolaid just yet, but I'm cautiously optimistic. And I see absolutely no reason to rag on him and be basically a cocksucker toward one of our own players in the offseason. If you can't get excited about an upcoming football season after an 11-2 year, then I'm not sure you realy have any business being a college football fan.

I, for one, am very excited about this upcoming football season, but I am not excited about what I saw from JJ in the spring game. I am far less inclined to believe all the hype about his alleged "improvement," for the simple fact that we heard the EXACT same things about him last year, and he was horrible for most of the season.

Until I see proof on the field that he has improved, I will remain a skeptic and pray that our coaching staff is smart enough to put the ball in the hands of our RBs and let them run through gaping holes opened up by out DAMN STRONG OFEENSIVE LINE. Have a great day.
