I have some fresh figs. Anybody have some good recipes? I will probably make preserves and try to use some fresh.

Go get some super thin prosciutto or jamon iberico or Virginia ham. Wrap it around the fig and eat.

Jambon Iberico, is that a form of serrano ham?

It is a ham from Spain, but different breed of pig than serrano. However, serrano would do pretty well.

Proscuitto is good, but serrano is without a doubt pig greatness.

I made preserves on Sunday. I will have to go pick more probably today or tomorrow and will need something else to do with them. I'm excited abotu the stuffing recipe mentioned above.

I bet you could soak some figs in a neutral grain spirit say for a month or so and end up with a pretty tasty liquor.

There is a restaurant in New Orleans that makes a fig bourbon. As it happens I have an semi good bottle of bourbon lying around the house. I think I just found the next project.

Been making preserves the last few years.
Look in the TD recipe book for my pork tenderloin with fig preserves.

Slit a fig and put a sliver of gorganzola, cambozola,or brie then wrap with prosciutto and bake/broil until the proscuitto is crispy.
