I just tested mine..........

DAMN!!! I used it outside alongside my browning.
There is no comparison. I could see detail and color in trees at 50+ yards. It can definitely serve as a spotlight for coon hunting.

The two drawbacks I see:
1. The actual brightest spot of the light is pretty small.
2. "Waterproofing Design" - I don't like this wording.....and I don't see that it would really keep water out in a downpour. I'm nervous about a short in bad weather.

In summary, I think this is a badass flashlight. I will probably always carry a backup with me in case it goes out, but I will use it as my primary light at night from now on.
Overall, for $19.98, it will be very hard to beat.

2 questions:
1. Once fully charged, how long will it hold its charge if not turned on?
2. How long does it hold its charge in the field?

I didn't read this whole thread. What light are you talking about here? I've never seen a $20 light that is bright enough for coon shining.

ETA: And I want one.

I have used mine hunting in a downpour and it done very well. My sons the same afternoon got a little moisture but never missed a lick. As far as the charge , i have used them for hours without charge. I guess anything more you could pack the extra battery it came with. I did this in the beginning but quit because i never needed it
