regarding U of O and Nike that many people do not know.
During the 60's Blue Ribbon Sports (Nike) was given birth on U of O's Hayward Field. Phil Knight/Nike is simply giving back to the institution that provided the environment for its success. Phil Knight was an accounting major and ran track. Coach Bill Bowerman (first Nike shoe designer) was one of the brightest minds in track and field and the University of Oregon was the institution that brought all the required elements for success to one place in time.
rodent nation, the rest of the Pac 12 & the NCAA needs to deal with it and move on! The Bottom line remains....No U of O = No creation of Nike!!
It will be an honor to play the LSU Tigers in Cowboy Stadium and I plan to be there with my favorite Duck (just had our 44th anniversary).
Regarding the 'Lyles' issue.....If my school broke any rules we deserve to be punished....I just hope it is settled by game time on September 3rd so we can all enjoy a great game.

Nice read EBD and welcome.
However, you may have posted it here since the Fark Board seemingly goes viral nationally more often than the other TD.com boards, but the Tiger Rant is where you should have posted this.
Plus, we only speak in pictures here, so...

I don't have a dog in that hunt, but you seem like a true fan and good guy, so best of luck with all that.
I do have some Oregon photos in the archives, so what the hell.

Welcome to the Fark Board! We always encourage new posters to this forum. Please make yourself at home and have fun with all of us. We do make fun of each other and anyone we can. As LSUFreek said, we communicate with images. So you'll want to make sure to update your profile with an avatar and signature. As a friendly gesture, I'd like to help get you started with your own signature file. Enjoy and post your creations with us often!

No waffle maker= No Nike
Posted on 6/21/11 at 7:29 pm to guttata
"waffle iron" you probablyl saw the 'Pre' movie. I actually question why the waffle pattern would translate to a great tread for track shoes....but it seemed to work out fairly well for Bill and Phil and several thousand others.

EBD,
This place is kinda like the French Quarter - you wanna stay contained within certain places, at least for a little while.
Stay on here, and maybe the SEC Rant and build up your post count a little bit. Then, as you start to feel more comfortable, you night be ready for the Recruiting Board, More Sports Board, and some of the other boards...but there's one place you should stay away from for a solid 6 months or so. The OT Lounge.
While confined in your comfort zone of the Rants, you might get accosted by some frat boys, some military guys on leave, and the incredibly drunk local from Chalmette, but those will be quick and someone in here will probably jump in and help you out.
But, if venture outside the comfort zone too quick, you'll find yourself staring down the business end of a stolen gun and some gang-banger who's about to kill you and take yo money.
Stay safe.
