I am a Duck alum from class of 1972 which translates to the fact that I have seen some very bad Duck teams/seasons (since the 60's). My favorite Duck is my wife of 44 years and she would actually go without me but that has never happened. It is a honor to play SEC team and I would not have ever expected SEC games.......even 12 years ago. It has been a long transition, but finishing 2nd in that nation after dominating the Buff's at the 2002 Fiesta Bowl, was a huge part of that transition. Again, may the best team win an injury free game!
LSU is an elite part of that. I take the position that Les Miles is a class act and I will believe that about him AND Chip Kelly until it is proven otherwise. If Chip broke the rules U of O will need to be penalized.

I also hear JJ is a good kid and will believe that until it is proven otherwise. Looking to meet some of LSU's great fans on the 3rd and looking forward to a great game with or without Harris, JJ,......

College football and basketball needs to be cleaned up and when it is, I excpect LSU and U of O to remain elite programs.

On Sept. 3rd, may the best team win and may it be an injury free contest.

GO DUCKS & Go LSU (after the 9/3/11)
totally true story....and two movies have been made about Prefontaine that show a lot of the early Nike history.
Liar? Fisherman do lie....it is one of the rules. But not about Autzen being in the top 10 best places to watch college football....that has been in all the papers, even on the radio and TV. Lloyd Carr said it was the loudest stadium he had ever been in....no lie.
Autzen is rated as one of the top ten places to watch college football....right up there with Tiger Stadium.....I admit I am glad that our game is in Arlington....I want to see that screen in person but I would love to do a series with LSU...both places. I would invite you guys to go fly fishing on the Deschutes. I have fly fished for reds out of Nawlins....forgot to take a hat and had my brains fried....it was in June! I need to get back to work so will check the board out later.
Regarding uniforms, I personally like the Duck's '95 Rose Bowl unis but I am also totally fine with defering to what the +17 year old recruits like. The uniforms are actually designed for the 17 to +20 year old market. Studies consistantly show that young athletes love our uniforms. I actually liked the NC uniform including the socks but I am also a Duck homer...it is my school (class of 72'). I actually have the same degree as Phil Knight but I was not a middle distance runner...it was too late anyway. I have no claim to fame but very proud of my Dad who was the General Superintendent in charge of the 1967 construction of Autzen Stadium. I was a laborer on that job and wokred with a Duck all-American named Jim 'Yazoo' Smith. This site is so much fun I may spend more time over here than on Educk.
btw-My youngest brat is a Beaver alum. He went on a student trade program and spent one semester at the LSU Phi Delt house in the mid 90's. Had too good of time but did get through it with 15 credit hours. LSU won the NC for the baseball that semester (Shaq had left for NBA the prior year). We will not be anything like the team that played at Jerry's world last year!!
Thanks, this is the hospitality we have found at Tenn. & Auburn. I totally get that you hate each other but it is great playing the SEC when you are from Oregon. I just hope we come out of this Liles thing with a wrist slap. Chip is a great guy and I feel is too smart to cause a major infraction. Any way we will be there on the 3rd of September with our duck calls and look forward to a great game....the winner of which should be #1 in the Nation.

GO DUCKS!
"waffle iron" you probablyl saw the 'Pre' movie. I actually question why the waffle pattern would translate to a great tread for track shoes....but it seemed to work out fairly well for Bill and Phil and several thousand others.
thanks, but this has been pretty amusing...so far!
regarding U of O and Nike that many people do not know.

During the 60's Blue Ribbon Sports (Nike) was given birth on U of O's Hayward Field. Phil Knight/Nike is simply giving back to the institution that provided the environment for its success. Phil Knight was an accounting major and ran track. Coach Bill Bowerman (first Nike shoe designer) was one of the brightest minds in track and field and the University of Oregon was the institution that brought all the required elements for success to one place in time.

rodent nation, the rest of the Pac 12 & the NCAA needs to deal with it and move on! The Bottom line remains....No U of O = No creation of Nike!!

It will be an honor to play the LSU Tigers in Cowboy Stadium and I plan to be there with my favorite Duck (just had our 44th anniversary).

Regarding the 'Lyles' issue.....If my school broke any rules we deserve to be punished....I just hope it is settled by game time on September 3rd so we can all enjoy a great game.
