Thinking about buying a hard drive for my 360

Anyone done this? I have the 4GB slim model. Was cruising Amazon and I found this for 50$ but the reviews are a little sketchy at times.

I would buy one. If I remember correctly you were the guy a couple of days ago that had problems with your Xbox after a power surge right? If you had to send your Xbox in to microsoft and are worried they would wipe your memory out, you could buy a hard drive and remove it before you sent it in.

Yeah that was me
Actually I got very lucky b/c it just fried the power brick instead of the whole system. I've read in a bunch of places that you are not supposed to plug it into a surge protector b/c the brick has it's own built in protection. Which just saved me a lot of heartache.
But I was thinking about getting one just to upgrade from 4 GB

The reviews for that look good actually. I didn't read specific ones, but it has 4.5/5 stars.
And if you do not want to to that you can buy your own OEM hard drive and a 3rd party mounting kit and install it yourself.
ETA:
That option might be more work than you are looking for tho.

Glad to hear it was just the power brick and not the entire system.

In my area, the local Gamestop has the 250GB ones for 129 I believe.
I pre-ordered the new GOW3 package simply for the 320GB drive. All of our 360s have been old style, so this will be my first of the new style.
I have not seen if they will offer the 320 GB seperate, but if they do, it may be worth holding off for.

Why not just use a big USB Flash drive ?
