His play in game one against Texas in Omaha will always stand out for me

Good for him, hope someone in the Minors helps him turn it around

Better ERA this year than in 2009.

Didn't like you in the classroom after I had class with you, but I'll always be thankful for your 2009 season.
Good luck in MLB.

Kid gives up one homer to Florida, gets a blown save because Austin Nola can't field a grounder, and gets beat by a seeing eye single against MSU, and people think the kid sucks.
Congrats Matty. Good luck in the pros.

Damn, I'm kinda bummed by this. Certainly one of the most interesting careers in LSU history.
His 2009 season was as dominant a season as I've ever seen an LSU pitcher have. He was just awesome, and the only readon his era was anywhere near the 2 something it was was because of 1 bad outing against Alabama when the game was already in hand.
He played an enormous role in us winning a title an for that I am grateful.

Bottom line - national title #6 doesn't happen without Matty Ice

While I agree he gets a lot of shite on here.....he has to shoulder some of the blame....he has pitched from behind in the count since the 09 CWS. I've never seen anybody pitch from behind like he did against MSU

No doubt, but he was our best reliever and was forced to pitch in situations he wouldn't succeed in. Our bullpen was so bad he had to go multiple innings, which he's not built for.

Hopefully he gets his degree.
