Jefferson played 1 good game last year. With weeks to prepare and a running game that opened up passing lanes for him to throw in. He still cannot read defense, audible, or do any of the things a heisman qb can do. He is a tremendous athlete and will run to first throw second. I would like to see jj use his head to look off coverage and do the fake step up then drop back and find Ruben randel open deep. With miles as coach we will never ever have a heisman qb. not dogging miles here. But he wants to run the ball every Damm play. I don't think we will ever throw enough while miles is calling the shots

2600+ pass yards 20-3 td/int 600 rush yards 10tds and a 12-0 record gets him in top 10. Don't think he has a chance to crack the finalists though.

Heisman and Jefferson in the same sentence, what a joke.

In order for JJ to be considered Heisman worthy, he'd have to be rated as one of the top QBs in the country in a few key stats. (top 10 might suffice with a title contending team)

Given that he was about the worst in all of D1 last year, a leap to top 10 seems pretty inconceivable.

Sure I'll get behind it... if he is an above average quarterback this season then we probably don't lose more than 1 game.

But it's more likely that I start a game for them this fall than JJ be a finalist.

Seriously? LSU was a BCS contender last year and JJ started every game ... how many times was he mentioned as a Heisman contender last year?

PP7 was our Heisman push last year. The athletic dept can't push more than one player for it...

Yes, and LSU was campaigning for PP7 for Heisman. It will be JJ this year.

Be ready to laugh a lot if we're 7-0 or 8-0 then...

I have a difficult time ascribing much value to this:

"Head coach Les Miles said Jefferson had the best spring of his career at LSU."

It may well be true, but it does not give me cause for optimism heading into the fall. I have heard similar things before, yet what I see on the field has not often matched up. Even this spring, Jefferson did not play particularly well the one time I saw him, which was the spring game.

Let me say this again...

ANDREW LUCK IS GOING TO WIN THE HEISMAN!!!!

I beleive JJ has a small chance at being mentioned, however, unless Luck loses both arms and one of his legs short of his spine falling out too, HE WILL WIN THE DAMN THING!

JJ = 15% chance of winning

You seriously believe that if PP7 isn't on last year's team, JJ would have warranted Heisman consideration?

I want some of whatever it is you're smoking.

That is awful high. I mean Mauck or Flynn didnt win the Heisman when they led LSU to a national championship. They were miles ahead of JJ as qb's. If LSU does win the NC it will be because JJ didnt get in the way he wont be a major cog in them getting there.

No, I was simply stating that PP7 was LSU's Heisman candidate last year, and this year it's JJ. As hard as it is to believe this is fact.
