The problem here now is that LSU is rumored to have talked to Candrea. We DEFINITELY talked to Murphy. Tons of rumors saying that we talked to Glenn Murphy about possibly coming home, as well.

That means we have NO SHOT at a first-tier coach after being burned in this awkward situation.

We have to go 2nd rung, even after showing we'll pay to set the bar higher than anyone in the Sport.

The fact that they've shown they will pay might be the reason they won't have to go down a tier. Plenty of bigtime SB coaches out there wishing they could make over 200K.

Get serious!

Remember a few years ago when Alabama fired Shula and got turned down by several coaches. They thought they finally had a deal w/Rich Rod when he punted on them. They did pull out more money but I don't think Saban was considered a 2nd tier college coach.
