. We're in as good of position going into the final day as could be realistically expected. Take care of business in the 200m, and the women have got this.

We were #1 or 2 for the most part all season and this is about a 5th or 6th depending on what happens. At best a 3rd.
That is what i am talking about. How many indoor and outdoors has he won since Pat has established his program at TAMU? I sat in the standard at BM since '83 watching T&F remember all the greats and think we are on a downward swing. Dominance in Women is not there and the men are going to be way out of it. FSU or TAMU will win the NC for the next 2 years for certain the way their men are performing.
The mental mistakes like running out of her lane or not knowing where the finish line was are something PH wouldn"t allow to happen.

When has an LSU woman last won a shot put, long or high jump title? Where is Boo and others in all of this? Gone.

Semoy Hackett misjudging the finish line in the 100 cost us points too.

The sign of Pat Henry's teams was that they always performed well in the clutch, and peaked at the right time.

Shaver's, not so much.

The better question is how often is a national title decided by the shot or high jump? The recruiting resources that would have to be burned to get the top shot putter in the nation would be much better used on a sprinter who can score in 2 events and 2 relays. The only schools who go after 1 event specialists are teams that can't give scholarships to the big point sprinters anyway.

The common denominator for all high level teams the past few years (excluding Oregon, who Nike gives an unfair advantage in distance events) has been excellent sprinters. This year is no exception with LSU, TAM, Florida, and Florida St all relying entirely on sprint recruits.

The formula works and it is one that Henry and Shaver use. The thing Shaver has to compete against that Henry never did is Henry at A&M and thats why he isn't as dominant.
