Nah. You have to have a band. I don't mind the music, but no football game is complete without a solid band.

I also prefer piped in music.

I can't stand the piped in music.
I won't even go in for the pre-game anymore because of it.
Add to that the terrible 'tiger roar' that's played over the PA that sounds like a damn toilet flushing.
Hell, I don't even need Dan Borne, they could do away with the PA system altogether (and hell, do away with the jumbotrons while they're at it) and I think it would improve the atmosphere.

True, the jumbotrons kinda suck because they are loaded with ads and it just looks tacky.

I remember a time not that long ago when TS needed nothing more than a defensive player waving his arms to get the crowd going. I guess those days are gone.
eta: How the frick can anyone get pumped to Justin Bieber right before the 2nd half kickoff? One of the worst moments in TS history.

What is this "piped in" music you all speak of?
Piped in music comes from an outside source, kinda like music you hear in a department store or an elevator.
Now, you may be hearing "canned" music at Tiger Stadium. Canned music is music that has been recorded ahead of time and played back by a certain person on site.
Just trying to educate. People on this site have been using the wrong term for years...

I like the band when they play during the game. Before the game they need to have some better music piped in.

The music isn't played "on site" per say. The guy running the board is in the Athletic Building so educate YOSELF FOOL.
