Free Free Free
Check out LINK I recently found it and it's amazing. Depending on your computer skill level it can take anywhere from 15 mins to a couple of hours to setup, but once you do it is the real classic server.
If you want to get setup and start a toon and get connected just let me know voodew@gmail.com

I was an active participant of EQEmu back in the day.
The problem with these things is that the games are designed to be *MASSIVELY* multiplayer

Yeah and that is the biggest issue. Project1999 has 800-900 people online at prime time each night with no people two-boxing. They are trying to get word of mouth out to people about playing. It would be a major win for them if they could avg 1500 each night.

Everquest was my MMO of choice from early 01 to mid 06.
Made a lot of friends, but in the end MMOs are simply "chase the next carrot".
Went back to console gaming, and havent looked back since.

Im tempted to jump back in....the main reason why I am holding back is because I would want to play a wizard, and I imagine groups are not easy to find.

bumping this- just came back to p99 last night. Any of you old school folks interested in a nostalgia kick, this is the place to do it. There were 750ish when I logged in yesterday, so the server is still holding up nice and strong in it's population. Also, Kunark has been released on this server (although i guess it could have already been out when this was first posted).
