Even with players who bolt for a pro career, we are still landing top 5 recruiting classes.

The real problem is we aren't developing them once they step foot on campus.

The only recruiting class in the past 3 years that was even ranked by Baseball America was last years.

But yes, we are not doing a good enough job of developing players.

I've heard (and I don't know how much truth there is to this at all) but ULL has a pretty special recruiting class. Said that a group of kids that have been playing ball together most of their lives were all going to college together and decided to make ULL their choice and that they made the recruiting class better than the one LSU had. Now I'm sure this is all a crock of shite and from a ULL homer, but it did come out of someones mouth..

Last year we were #2, and I'm on my phone so don't feel like looking up 2009 but I think we were 1.

Yep, take all 12 players off of the Lafayette Little League World Series team and it guarantees that you are now better than the best players from all around the country 6 years later.

Those dudes couldn't even win a high school state championship, but now ULL fans are claiming that the Little League heroes are going to bring home a NCAA championship?

Actually recruiting rankings in baseball don't come out until the fall when they know who is on campus.

Is that what it is?? The group of Little League World Series players. How many of them is it?

Did they all play on the same high school baseball team? Or were they spread out among Lafayette schools?

i guess they didn't watch the 30 for 30 about the kirkland, washington world championship team years ago .. none of those kids amounted to anything and the star of that team .. the fat cody kid .. just stayed home and whined for the next 20 years ..

I don't think there's been a bad job developing talent. Not great, but not bad, either. Mainieri just needs to figure out how to balance the middling recruits with some of these MLB prospects. Having a halfway decent pitching staff will help.

i am pretty sure LSU kept track of all of those kids and there's a reason why none of them will be playing here ..

i don't know the difference between sam and sally when it comes to baseball rankings.

but i'm sure it's possible to have rankings during the CWS and ,just like in football, as players commit, decommit, turn pro, get caught in a hotel room with hookers and blow, etc. that the rankings just change week to week.
