I've texted a few people today that want Mainieri to be fired. Not because we didn't make it to the Tourney (which I imagine had a lot to do with it) but for his horrible SEC record the last two seasons. I mean obviously anytime LSU doesn't make it to at least a regional (much less host one) in baseball it's pretty embarrassing, but is it worth firing Mainieri? What do yall think?

our below par sec record needs to be dealt with. this year we deal with it by canning assistants. next year if we dont host it needs to be paul that is gone.

3 down years in a row means bye bye

Nope. Should we fire Miles because he didn't win the BCSNC the last few years? PM has won a CWS, and the year before that he did some damage in Omaha, so he has brought this team success. Yes, the team underperformed. However, he had a young team this year that had a lot of growing up to do down the stretch and there is absolute zero ways to argue with results, which he has produced before. Apparantly there will be some coaching changes, and that seemed to work for the football team, i.e. John Chavis and (soon to be) Steve Kragthorpe.

The people that do, i'd love to know what they think he's done SPECIFICALLY to regress as a coach in just 3 seasons.

miles took a shite ton of heat in 08 and 09. miles responded by putting up a better year last year. also miles doesn't have us missing bowl games.

we missed the post season this year and even if we had made the post season we weren't very good so it would have ended like last year. things need to change, pm has a nc so i think he deserves 3 years, 1 down one just because it could happen, the 2nd one is when you change the staff up. If it happens 3 times in a row your gone.

It's a helluva lot harder to win or even get into the BCSNC than to just MAKE IT to the NCAA Baseball Tourney with field of 64, just sayin.

Didn't we go 7-6 one season and 3-5 in SEC play?

I'd say that is very close to being similar than missing the 64 team regional.

So, saying the BCSNC is going a bit far, but there are legit comparisons that can be made.

If we somehow don't make the NCAA Tournament next year, he should be fired.

No, we went 8-5 that year and won a bowl game. Then we went 9-3 the next year where we lost a bowl game. So we did make it to post season play in those two seasons.

yep and miles teams didn't fall as far as pms did.

his year after the nc was kinda like pauls but then the next year les at least went to a better bowl.

paul basically got the same result except didn't make the bubble this time so kinda like not going to a bowl.

then with heat on les actually put together a good season and has us looking great for next year(in this case this year_)

It's still all blurry from the extra quantities of alcohol that had to be consumed to get through those games.

Cut me some slack.

understandable and that year is pretty comparable to what paul did after his nc, les has slowly improved us each season after that.

paul took a step back this year. Also les made the changes needed after each season so we will see if paul does it as well

I'm just saying, if Les was to miss a bowl game, and start out the season as highly ranked as the baseball team was this season, this website would overload and crash from people calling for Les to be thrown out of town and never allowed back.

as they should us missing a bowl game shouldn't happen ever and us missing out on regionals shouldn't happen ever.

not hosting imo is kinda like going to a lower tier bowl game. that is forgivable if it rarely happens

If they are, they're idiots.

Get rid of Sanchez and Grewe. We'll be just fine.

I give him one more year. If no coaching changes are made and we don't make any postseason tourney, then yes he needs to go.
