This is certainly a new insight on the topic.

I'm over it. Writing it off and waiting for football season. It is what it is.

I haven't seen anyone on here argue that LSU was a great team this year but I'm pretty sure that they were in the Top 64

I won't say that we didn't deserve to be in, but I will say that we have very little right to complain.

It's sort of like that fighting saying ... "Don't leave it in the hands of the judges." You may not like the decision (and you may be right) but ulimately, our team left it to the judges and when that happens you can't really coplain about the outcome.

I'm all for putting this aside and counting down to football season (especially with this supposed lack of pro football). I still like asking questions though, 6 sec teams in, that has to factor in right? I still think it's a stretch to say how far we've dropped when we won a nat'l champ less than 2 years ago

I thing the "we" he's referencing is the fanbase, not the team. If LSU had made it into the tourney, the same crowd would be complaining about the regional we were sent to, or the Super Regional we were matched up against, or the color of the opposition's uniforms, etc, etc, etc.

Baseball will be back next year. The problem for us was during all the SEC weekends we lost. We beat the terrible teams and lost to the good ones. In anyone's mind, we are at the bottom of a very good conference. I think the field of 64 has a very good representation of who is the best from the SEC. Unfortunately, we weren't in it. We knew that from the teams that went to Hoover. We needed to take care of business earlier in the year, and we didn't.

I just want football to hurry up and get here, and then we can get excited about baseball again next year. The baseball team just got some bad breaks this year, but we coached ourselves out of both tournements. I don't blame the NCAA committee. We shouldn't have even gave them a decision.

You don't think it strange St. Johns have a rep. on the NCAA Selection Committee??
Do you not think ANY regional site would want LSU as better for media and attendance purposes? The only negative about LSU would be as a threat to knock off several of the top seeds, even in an off year...

If LSU would had handled business this year and not blown games in late innings of some very crutial then they would had made it.

You know who else didn't deserve it? Fresno State in 2008. That is a sorry, sorry way to look at things. It is baseball and there is such a thing as parity. LSU was one SEC win away from deserving it. Bizarre views in this thread.

LSU didn't "deserve" to be in this year, no team as firmly on the bubble as LSU was this year does. That said, LSU had a better body of work than several teams that got in. (k-state, Baylor, Jacksonville, etc)

For those who feel the program has drastically fallen in the past 2 years, chill out. This year's team blew 4 games very late (uf, ark, au, and miss st). Win those and LSU is possibly hosting this week. They didn't win them though and paid the price. It was a bad year, not the fall of the program.

Its not that LSU didn't deserve to be in it it was the fact that they shouldn't have been in this situation to begin with.

My personal opinion was always that if you can't play well enough to get into your own conference tournament you shouldn't expect a bid to the NCAA.

Even when there are conferences filled with teams that aren't no better than high school players. Lets throw LSU in one of those conferences and lets make see how many games they will lose. I say not many if any..

Yes, and IF we would have made it in it would have been a short stay. Let the season go as a learning experience and bring on FOOTBALL!!!

Id rather be competitive and lose in the SEC than coast in some lesser conference. Other teams ask for freebies and an easy path....its a losers perspective.
