What about an Altima or a Maxima?

I think I could do a Maxima. I drive too fast for an Altima. I hear they start hydroplaning once you do anything over 70.

Four cylinder or 6? I swapped out the tires on my Pathfinder at 8k miles b/c they sucked and hydroplaned, no problem thereafter with Michelin with excellent wet traction rating.

We have had 2 Maximas, both have been very good although the first one was better built and handled much more like a sports sedan. Nissan changed the turning radius when the model was changed, that has sucked for parking. Don't know about the latest model. I would say Honda is a better vehicle overall. No experience with Volvo although consumers that buy them seem to stick with the brand.
