Surely that can't be correct. Is there a more unlikely guy to hit a homer?

Braun and McGehee

That's what Yahoo is showing in their boxscore.

It wouldn't be his 1st career HR anyways

Greinke is actually a very good athlete. When he was going through the depression and stuff with the Royals he asked them if he could play SS. So im sure he can swing it a little.

He has been on record saying that he prefers hitting to pitching.

Not really a big baseball fan are ya?
Greinke is a big strong guy that isn't terrible at hitting.. He just hasn't had alot of career at bats, but in his few, going back to AAA, he has a high contact:damage ratio. Around a .200 hitter with 3 doubles and 1 homerun in 6 hits.
So, yeah there are more unlikely guys to hit homeruns; every pitcher in the majors save Carlos zambrano

Nope, I can't say that I'm a big enough baseball fan to track his AAA at bats.
It's probably a moot point since I'm not really sure if he actually hit one today anyway. It's in the scoring summary but not in the box score now. Yahoo's stats have been jacked up lately.

And Micah Owings...if he is still even in the Majors.

Triple A in the D'Backs organization, I believe.
I'd like to see Colon hit a HR.

That's why I said "in the majors."
Otherwise I could have brought up dontrelle Willis as well

Here's my point: I've closely followed the Royals the last 4 or 5 years (yes, I see he hit one a few years back). And I've followed baseball closely enough to win my fantasy league the last 6 years and it is my "OPINION" that Greinke is one of the last people I would expect to hit a HR. Just my opinion. (And I still don't even know if he actually hit one today or not).

what's that have to do w/ Grienke's ability to hit?

You're right. There's no connection to watching the Royals the past five or six years and Greinke.
