Shaver has not improved the men's program

A bit premature for this. LSU is a team built for NCAA's, not SEC. All of those easy points Arkansas was getting in the distance events will go away at nationals. Florida will still score a lot of points but not nearly as many. LSU doesn't have the depth to keep up with those teams in a small meet, but in a big meet with low scores we do.

It usually takes 55-60 points to win Men's Nationals. It is conceivable that we could get that. Realistic best case for us would be as follows...

4x1 Relay- 2nd place - 8 points
4x4 Relay- 3rd place - 6 points
110 Hurles-1st place - 10 points
Hammer - 2nd place - 8 points
Triple Jump - 4th place - 5 points

Those are our very good events. To win we would need some of these to come up big....

Pole Vault - 0-6 points
Long Jump - 0-4 points
200 Meters - 0-8 points

Longshot events that would really help. If our guys run over their heads, we could maybe pick up 5 between these 2 events
400 Meters
100 Meters

Add up the best case senarios for all of these events and you get 57 points. Now, there are things we have to avoid to have a chance like Florida scoring 20+ in the triple jump or their miler winning or Texas AM scoring 20 in the 400m
