David Toms teed off early this morning and is in 1st place at 10 under par (4 under for his round) after the 2nd round and has a 1 shot lead.
He made bogey from the fairway on #15 from only 142 yards out - hit in the trap and couldn't get up and down.
On #16, he hit a 276 yd drive down the middle on the par 5 hole, then, from 228 yds out, with water on the right. Toms hit a beautiful shot to 10 feet from the hole. He missed the eagle putt, but made birdie to get to 10 under (4 under for the day) - 12 birdies in 2 days so far!
Toms hit his tee shot on the famous 17th Hole and was barely dry, but safe. He made a great 1st putt and a short three footer for his par.
Tomes stripped it down the middle 254 yards on Hole #18 and hit a 188 yd second shot to 12 feet setting up his birdie putt. Toms missed the birdie putt and settled for a par to finish with a 68 today, 10 under for the tournament. He currently has a 1 shot lead.
So far, through 2 rounds, Toms has hit 86% of the fairways (ranking 1st) and 81% of the greens (ranking 4th). He played well today, despite making his first 2 bogeys of the tournament, including the one on 15 from the fairway only 143 yards from the green.
Toms is off to a great start this week.
Let's GEAUX Toms!!

Are they still contemplating adding the Players Championship as a Major? I thought i remember them discussing it at one point.

Some call it the "5th Major" but it is not formally a major.

Somebody predicted Toms to win on the MSB. I am sure they will be here soon enough to tell us all about it

Love to be there to give him a Geaux Tigers. I was at the Compaq Classic when he won. Lot of LSU love going around then.

Horrible start for Toms putting wise. Hitting it great but has missed three birdie putts from less than 6' first 4 holes , he is now one back
