Best comparison to LSU baseball 2011: Florida 2003

Both teams started out on fire. Florida was 23-6-1 through the first 30 games, and 12-1 or so through their first 13.
They managed to have a mini-implosion of sorts during a sizable portion of SEC play, finishing 34-19-1 overall and 13-16-1 in conference play. Their non-conference schedule included Miami and Florida State, two solid programs, and everyone else was terrible.
Now here is the interesting thing: 13-16-1 in the conference in 2003 was not good enough for the SEC tournament. However, Florida received an at-large birth from the NCAA selection committee. The team ended up a 3 seed and went to the Miami regional, where they eventually went 2-2 and were sent home.
Anyways, the point of this thread is to say, if we go 13-17, which would likely be 36-20 overall, I think we get into the NCAA tournament as a 3 seed, regardless of whether we make it to Hoover. If we go 12-18 and 35-21, we are squarely on the bubble, imo.
Thus, going 6-4 in the final 10 games is an absolute must, but it will probably take 7-3. That means beating (in what I think is the most likely scenario)
Kentucky on Saturday
1/3 from Bama
2/3 from Mississippi State
Sweeping Tennessee
This is certainly doable, imo.

I believe I heard the tv commentators say in the last 11 sec series LSU has had 0 sweeps and been swept 6 times. Although it is possible for LSU to get a sweep this weekend, it is highly unlikely they will get another this season. I know Tenn is also bad, but LSU just isn't that much better.

Agreed. And it is easy to forget a last-place Tennessee team won 2 of 3 at No. 1-ranked LSU in 2009.
Also, coincidentally, LSU was the tie on Florida's record in 2003.

We seemed to have gotten out of the slump. I have a feeling well get out better than 13-16

First thing taken care of. Now time to go 3-3 in the next two series. We can do it

Alright, my scenario is still in play. I still believe that we take 2/3 from Miss. State and then sweep Tennessee to end the regular season. Our RPI would be in the mid-high 20s and our overall record would be 36-20. No way that gets left out. Hoover doesn't matter.

Bump.
I'm going ahead and calling the Sunday game a victory.
I am shaping up to look like a genius except for getting the series order wrong.

LSU still can't win on the road but I feel like this is the week we finally do.
