I'm from Baton Rouge. Born and raised here. Yet I'm a huge Lakers fan. A real Lakers fan, not some bandwagon hopper.
My dad's from LosAngeles and most of his family still lives there. So all my chiildhood basketball memories were at The Great Western Forum.
When I left high school and joined the Air Force there was no team in NOLA. My first assignment base was in California. So the Lakers have been my team for decades.
The comes along the Hornets. I truly like the hornets. I get the partial plan every year. I had a Peja, Baron and Chris jersey.
My question is, as a fan of both, why are so many Hornets fans being absolutely insane during this series? Hornets talent and desire isn't there during the losses....period.

so as a fan of both, do you feel like last nights game was officiated well? honest question. im not blaming the officiating 100% at all. the hornets played like arse, but what did you think about those 2 clear flagrants that werent called?

That's your opinion and you are entitled to it, but lets be honest, the Lakers deserved to win every game they won. Same with the Hornets. Why is this so difficult for people to digest?

You are a bandwagon fan. Geography must decide which fan you are.

During the losses the Lakers are looking like the Lakers are supposed to. During the wins the Hornets are just playing the same way, but the Lakers shot themselves in the foot.

that's kinda how we do in the playoffs.

if we win, its a close game.
if we lose, its a blowout (double digits)

not just this year, for the last few years.

The first half was indeed badly officiated. By NBA rule the Kobe foul on Emeka should have been a flagrant (contact around the neck/head area). In the same breath, the Chris Paul two handed foul on Kobe in game 4 was also around that area, and there was no Flagarant call.

Im not an idiot. I know the Lakers get beneficial calls over most teams (not the Heat). But there are also many instances where Laker fans and players can yell foul.

honestly calls are going both ways in the series.

We got some ticky tacky calls so far and so has L.A.

It's a part of the NBA, deal with it, get offense rebounds and second chance points, and we made win last night.

Ok i was at game 3 and 4, and Yes, we got MORE ticky tacky calls but they actually called Kobe Bryant for TRAVELING at a GAME1 playoff at the Staples center. That should mean SOMETHING.

I don't get all the complaints I'm seeing about the calls. What lost the game was our crappy interior play the one game we get solid perimeter play. The hornets got 15 points and 15 rebounds out of the entire C/PF positions. That's vs 47-25 for Pau, Bynum and Odom. Okafor and Landry weren't in foul trouble and I don't recall many instances where I felt they were robbed. The Hornets just got beat soundly in the paint.

I am the same way, always loved the Lakers as a kid before the Hornets. One of my good friends wife works in ticket sales for the Hornets so we always get thrown a bunch of tickets and bought 2 packages this year. I am 50/50, no matter what one of my teams is advancing. Still don't think anyone can beat the Lakers in 7.

Also, the Lakers are like the Yankees, Red Sox, Bruins, Red Wings, Steelers, Cowboys, Celtics, and Patriot fans that do not live in those areas nor have ever lived there.

If you are not a fan of those above teams, then you hate them! If you are a fan of those teams, then you suck anyways so who cares!

Everyone hates the Lakers and their players except their own "fans". There is a perception that they get more calls than other teams.

The end.

Totally agree... I just hate Kobe as many do outside of LA.... The Lakers just have this stinch about them that I dislike... If the Hornets don't turn the ball over and limit second chance opportunities, they win the series....

This is very understandable and reasonable. But most of my friends, family and coworkers cant see that. Its one thing to hate Kobe and the Lakers, but to continously say the refs are costing the Hornets games and such is putting a black eye on the great games that have been played. And regardless of who you're cheering for that isnt cool.
