per WWLTV
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Three years after Joe Alleva was chosen as LSU's latest athletic director, the university's governing board is being asked to keep him around until at least 2016.
LSU Chancellor Mike Martin is recommending an Alleva contract extension from 2013 to 2016. The LSU Board of Supervisors will consider the extension at its meeting Friday.
Martin praised Alleva's leadership of the Athletic Department, saying he continues to improve facilities and keep the department financially stable, while a majority of the school's teams continue to make it to post-season competition.
LSU's football program finished No. 8 in the country after its most recent season, but basketball and baseball programs have underperformed this year.
Alleva was leader of Duke University's sports programs for a decade before he came to LSU.

Alleva has done a fine job.
What's he supposed to do, ax Manieri?!?
The Johnson hire hasn't gone as well as we hoped but it was a good hire for us at the time considering where we are in the pecking order of college basketball.
