Would Ingram be a good pick if still available for saints?

I hope Mallett is available, since Brees is a shell of his former self and might bolt

Yes, I think he would be. A workhorse running back who can keep the other teams offense off the field will help our defense tremendously.

And what is the REAL problem with having another thread on this? How does it affect everyone's lives negatively? If you don't like, simply don't read it. Sheeeesh!!!

He is certainly a BPA option if available at pick 24 but I'd rather see the best defensive player get picked. It would be great if Loomis could trade back a little and pick him up. That way, we could be in position to still draft a higher tier defensive lineman early in the second round.

Ingram reminds me of Knowshon Moreno with a little more power but less pass catching ability. Basing my decision off of this, I wouldn't want Ingram until very late in the first or early second.

wrong, sort of. Yes we need a workhorse RB, Ingram is not that.

Ingram has a bum knee and that's hurting his draft stock BIG time. Probably 2nd rounder at best. If he's available for our 2nd round pick, then I say go for him. But most certainly not the first round, and DEFINITELY don't trade up to get him. Plus we need to grab defense from the 1st round. Ryan Kerrigan or the like.

Because it clogs up the board with shite that's already there. There's already a thread on this, so use that one.

Taking Ingram before the 3rd round is a mistake.

yes.

more often than not, stud college backs, are stud NFL backs...

I never understood why players like jones-drew and portis went second round.

take the best player available. There is no game changing DE that late in the draft, and too much is made out of the defensive performance in seattle. Defense took steps forward this year...i don't know what the fuss is about

I'd say MAYBE if he didn't have a bum knee. But the reason this happens is because there is always plenty of serviceable and good RBs in the 3rd round or later.

But Ingram has a bum knee and a lot of teams are not going to take a chance on him with that knee in the first round.

Don't know if you have noticed or not, but since Loomis and Payton took over they have gone for the Best Player Available regardless of position and that's worked out well so far.
