I have a few joints, but I'm not opening my mouth. I still have 6 more months of being 20 years old.

Neither.

Just someone with little experience of having to worry about providing drinks for an underaged friend.

Dublin's...RIP...

You could walk in there with two big arse X's on your hands, go to the bar and ask for two crown and seven's and five Jager bombs and get served..

Gator boots...ah the memories...

This is all I'll say. I frequent a nice restaurant's bar because of this.

But yes, in general if you're going to a higher end place for dinner, they won't ID.

eta: depends on who you're with. I'm 20 and have been ordering drinks at restaurants since 18. My SO is almost 27 so that probably has something to do with it.

Here's my trick: The person of age orders first. If they aren't ID'd, the person underage orders next. It would be discriminatory for them to just ID 1 person unless the "of age" person was over the age of 40.

I don't go anywhere in Atlanta that doesn't card. At my age it is ridiculous, but you should see the look on my mom's face when they card her.

That's funny. You could tip off the waiter/bartender and put her in a good mood.

I don't look that old for my age, but it is very clear I am not anywhere close to 21, so it irks me a bit.

2 Cosmos usually do that anyway, if she's not pouting about NOT being carded...

there are no discrimination laws here though, they could just as easily not card him, then card you.

become a regular anywhere around LSU and they will be cool with you drinking. Just get some drunk guy sitting at the bar to buy it for you or tip the bartenders well. That's what I did and it worked while I was underage.

I never said it's a law. A waiter isn't going to ID one person in the couple and not the other. Not when you're my age.

Because there IS a law saying that you are supposed to ID anyone that looks under 40. And neither of us are anywhere around that.

They either ID or they don't.. they're not going to ID one young person and not the other. Doesn't happen.

They "could" like you said, but they don't. I "could" do a lot of things I don't do..
