In the Kings last game vs. Denver Thornton had 27 but also shot 19 times and ended up with a -14 on the night.

Is that really as productive as it first seems?

to be fair +/- is a subjective statistic.In theory,bill russell can shite down wilt,but if jerry west is lighting up from the outside,russell can have a negative score.That does indicate how well Russell is playing.It is subjective to the talent around you.

To me, Thornton is what he is...a pure scorer on a shitty team.

He'll always be a good option on shite teams, because they won't ask him to play defense, pass the ball, or not turn the ball over. Yes, he's always going to be able to fill it up, but he'll never be a "star". Ever. He's Ben Gordon at best.
