O'Bryant looks pretty good
Saw a bunch of others with interest on tigerbait. Any truth to it?
They have some good players coming out of La this year.
Anyone think we pick someone else up in this class?

Did anyone watch him play last night? Can you give us a quick report on how he played.

I caught most of the second half. When he came in he looked agressive and he hustled. He rebounded well, made some good outlet passes and has quick hands. I saw him score at least 5 points (two put-backs and one free throw). On the downside he didn't show a lot of elevation (ala Big Baby) and had his shot blocked once. He also did not appear to react quickly on defense, but it was an All-Star game. He will definitely help us next year.

I think he had about 9 points and 5-6 rebounds. Started and played as one of the two East big men, along with Marshall Plumlee at the end of the game, which I take as a good sign.
Stamina questions weren't really answered because all of the players played about 18-20 minutes, but he looked fine when he played.
He is slow and not very explosive but has very good hands and can pick up loose balls better than most big men. He can finish strong in the paint as well. He seemed to get involved quite a bit. Rarely would he sit there and just do nothing. Both he and Plumlee were out there setting screens for the East guards, which you rarely see in All-Star games.
One thing to keep in mind is that this year's bigs are considered very poor by most standards. Rakeem Christmas is downright bad, Plumlee is no better than his brothers, and the best bigs are really overgrown small forwards like Gilchrist, Wiltjer, and Anthony Davis.

Where'd you find the box score? I haven't seen one yet.

I love O'Bryant so please don't take none of this the wrong way. As somebody that has seen him over 50 times this was my observation. He looked a tad slower and less explosive than usual. He seemed to have gained some weight since I last saw him in December. With that said, his shot selection was piss poor but it was an all-star game. He tends to settle for the jumper alot anyways, although his shots that he missed were quick and rushed. Johnny will really help LSU though, but IDK how much immediately. He is definitely not a 1 and done guy but will be a pro. He plays with a ton of energy every game out and he did last night. He should start from Day 1. He will do well at LSU, great kid with a great personality.

his biggest impact as a freshman should be on the glass. if he shows up to br in june then by october he should be in decent shape to start practice.

I agree. And to the guy talking about Populist as a walk-on, he is transferring. There are about 3 or 4 schools he is considering. 2 i know are in Louisiana and 1 in Florida. I believe there may be a couple more involved but not sure.

Look for two JC guards to be signed

I'm glad for Populist. He's good enough for a scholarship somewhere. No reason for him to be a walk on. Good luck to him.

Good for Pop. He showed alot of character in accepting his role and playing to the fullest when he got the chance. I hope wherever he goes he finds personal and team success. Very deserving dude.

Yea Pop is a great kid with a great family. I think he has made a decision but I won't leak it until it is out to the public as to where. Where he goes though, he will be the starting PG.
