from all you fine food experts....trying to decide on a fine dining restaurant to go with my boyfriend in New Orleans for about $100. Or would it be better to do a fixed menu Sunday brunch type thing? TIA!

fine dining in new orleans for $100 is an oxymoron.

That is easily doable. Try Boucherie, Maple Street Cafe or Cafe Minh.

The best brunch in town is Patois and you can get out of there for well under 100.00.

Incorrect.

if cocktails and wine are involved, which they should be for a special occasion, then no way in hell the bill will be under $100.

Do you live Uptown? There is nothing on Boucherie's menu over 15.00 dollars. Matt and Naddie's is doable as well as is Maple Street Cafe and Jamila's for sure. NO has restaurants tha rock for a really great value. Two people could get out of Crepe Nanou for under 100.00 easily.

yes, those are all great values and i've been to them all. i just wouldn't consider them fine dining. guess that's me.
where i live has nothing to do with this.

I see your point.

Thanks for the suggestions. yea I guess fine dining might not be the right wording. just looking to go to a nice, local restaurant that is upscale. Didn't know if $100 would do it or if I should do a fancy Sunday brunch type thing. Anyone ever been to Antoines lunch? They have a $20.11 fixed menu...
