Seriously, people most often WAY underestimate how much dirt they'll need. Often by loads, as in 12 yard trucks.

Probably 2 yards. Not doing the whole backyard, just have an area about 20 x 10 feet that I need to add a couple inches to.

Dang, that's too much to go get at wal mart and not enough for the minimum they'll have to haul. May want to borrow a trailer and go get some but that's too much too shovel, too.
If it's not too low and you need just a little lift, don't rule out fill sand or even sand. works well and I know for sure bermuda will come right through.

trailer is the easiest way, but you can fit a yard in the back of a full size pick up and get it unloaded and spread with a wheel barrow in about an hour, not too hard did a yard last weekend

Problem is Bermuda in the first place. Centipede struggled in the low spot I guess due holding too much water and Bermuda came in and made it look like crap. killed the bermuda so I'm gonna raise it a little and put centipede back on top. Will probably start with a yard in the back of my truck and see what happens. Can always get more if needed. May only need about an inch average depth.
