If you're buying the kayak for fishing, I would definitely get a sit on top rather than a sit in. You can set up your gear, coolers, etc. with much more freedom. I have a sit in and it's fun when the waters get fast if I'm just paddling, but it's harder to fish out of because of all the gear and moving around.

I love my sit in. I can fill that bitch up with fish if my basket gets full. I have absolutely no problem fishing out of it.
Mr. CT and I use a large folding fish basket for our fish as we catch them (Academy has them). Your fish can stay in the water and stay alive for quite a while. When you're ready to go, pull the basket out of the water and throw in/on your yak.
