@oldmantig, my years also...Help Mac Pac, Basketball emerging, baseball was a step above a walk on sport, track was an "oh by the way" event.
But at least Basketball broke out before we left. Will never forget the game against Bama in '79, when the SEC Championship Banner was dropped a tad early. First one in 25 yrs. We are the Champions by Queen was blaring over the loudspeakers...including the We Will Rock You prelude...what a mad house.

Basketball was good. Football was ok. Albert Belle lead the baseball team. We lost our wrestling program to make room for more girl sports. Track & Field was decent.
