The Stump Jump Wine (blend)

It's an Australian wine that I opened with dinner last night.
At $10, it's not a bad wine.
Has anyone else had this wine?
I hadn't heard of it until this past weekend.

The Stump Jump is one of the most consistently delicious wines for under $15 on the market. And since I love syrah/grenache/mouvedre blends this wine is right up my alley. I've been a big fan of Stump Jump, and d'Arenberg wines in general, for years.

I've had it, too. Love it and gave it as gifts this past Christmas. No complaints, but none of my coworkers ever complain about my alcohol-gifts.

I don't know how long Dorignac's has carried this wine, but this weekend is the first time I've noticed it.
...and I know I don't complain about alcohol gifts
This bottle was actually a gift.

Yes. The Stump Jump GSM and Shiraz are both really good.

then I'll have to give the Shiraz a try too.

You will like it, if you like Australian shiraz. It is slightly more full bodied than the GSM. Matherne's here in BR has them both.

Australian Shiraz is something I've recently come to like.
I have another bottle of Penley Estate Shiraz (distributed by the same importer as Stump Jump) that I can't wait to open.
I'll start a new thread when I do.

I've had it a few times and like it. Some are put off by the screw top. I am not. It's a good wine to have when you've got a lot of peeps over.

The wife and I both love GSM blends when we venture out of our zinfindel(red) zone. Whenever I go wineshopping, I am always on the lookout for a good GSM. Australia, France, California and even South Africa has made some excellent GSMs.

anybody know if I can pick up a bottle in Shreveport?

According to the distributor's website, you can.
OldBridgeCellars is the distributor, and d'Arenberg is the winery. Just enter your zip code after that.
I don't know where in Shreveport you are, but the website mentions a few places:
Thrifty Liquor on E. Texas in Bossier
Albertson's on E. King Hwy
?
Wine Country
Bistro & Bottle Shop on Line Ave.
I'd call around
