Bingo. New laws will only stop law abiding citizens from purchasing legal firearms. Felons can't get them legally as it is but that doesn't stop them from getting them.

Ask any gun broker if a spike in gun sales corresponds in a spike in gun crimes. The answer is no no no no no every time.

Reloading isn't going to help. The component will be impossible to find. That's what happened after Obama took office. People bought up all the primers/brass/powder and you simply couldn't get them.

I had to do a report in my poli sci class at LSU 5 or 6 years back on a gun control.

I found a statistic, cant remember exactly what it is, but it was something along the lines of 4 out of 5 crimes committed with guns were done with guns obtained illegally or via the black market.

i.e. Make background checks tougher all you want, its not gonna change the fact that if a dangerous criminal wants a gun, he need only go to the trunk of some local thug's car to get it.
