Have you ever met him? He's one of the nicest and most generous coaches I've had the opportunity to know. I'm not saying this is reason enough to keep him as a coach, but to say that you're "not a fan of Trent Johnson" is perhaps poorly worded on your part. If you met and knew our last coach, and were so fortunate enough to achieve the same situation with our current coach, you would certainly be a fan of CTJ (and I believe most program supporters were at some point just because of this factor, and perhaps the esteem and prestige of being Stanford's coach).

To this point CTJ does everything required of a coach to a satisfiable level—with the one important exception of winning, and perhaps recruiting. Sure, he pulled a few good players, and we have purportedly good talent coming in, but we can't exactly start hailing "CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR YEARS!!" until we've got a quantifiably victorious product on the court, and that's the only reason to question his recruiting efforts—which, to be honest, I've seen very little complaining from the fanbase upon this aspect of his coaching.

With our last coach, many of the players did not get along with him and they played for themselves more than for the coach. That's not what we have here with Trent, but perhaps it doesn't matter, since winning is all that matters to the fans. Since he's working with some pretty soft and malleable "clay"—that is to say, that he had some fair seasons with the leftovers, and now is working for something that will no doubt be a work of his own—I would suggest laying off on the "not a big fan of Trent Johnson" talk, until you actually know the man. Perhaps you don't like his product or his results, but for godsakes, temper your judgments which are cast upon a man who is doing his very best to bring LSU upstanding young men, and a quality basketball team.

To my knowledge, CTJ has never had a stint with a college basketball program lasting more than four years. He is a winning coach, and he is our coach, so let's see what he can do.
