Is it worth it? My local blockbuster is going out of business soon. I heard the service kind of sucks if you try to get a release date game. My older sibling wants to use it for sports games and games he missed out on.

I personally love it for the value.

I can pay $200 for the year to play all the games I want that I know have no staying power with me or no realy MP experience to keep me coming back.

To get release day games is easy. You make sure GF has already received whatever game you have at home currently and empty your Que to only the release day game. Typically on Monday you will get the email saying the game has shipped. They usually arrive on Wednesday. I've never missed a release day game I want.

I have had it for a year and I love it.

It takes about 3-4 days for them to recieve your game when you send it in, and no more than 3 days (atleast for me) to get the game.

I would recommend the 2 game deal, that way you will not have to wait to recieve one game, you will always have another to play.

For 2 games its 22.95 a month. As long as you don't keep games for 4 months at a time then you save a lot of money. And if you do like a game and want to keep it, they offer really good prices on them, lower than you would get anywere else because they are technically used games.
I average about 2 weeks to a month with games so it is well worth it. They also take your used games as well and give you a really fair deal.

As far as new release games...every single unreleased new game that I requested was sent the day before official store release, and I have rented quite a few new releases (Uncharted 2, Killzone 3, Fallout New Vegas, GT5...etc).

Hope this helps

A buddy of mine had it and was not to impressed with the turn around time for sending back and receiving your next game. He lived in Baton Rouge at the time, this was about 4 years ago so I am not sure if it has gotten better since.

Mine come from Austin.

Also, they don't process on weekends, so they do take a little longer than I'd like. Don't think Netflix. They usually receive 3-4 days after I mail and I receive 2 days after they ship.

I'm using Gamefly to catch up on some games now that I've wanted to play for a while. I think the 6 day turnaround is unacceptable, so I'm dropping it after my 2nd month. I know the 3 days for them to get the game you return is bullshite since Netflix has a location in Austin too, I believe, and they get it and send the next film out the next day. Also, when I first signed up a few weeks ago, I had 7 games in my queue, two of which were older games. It took them 3 days to finally send out MGS4, which was like 4th in my queue and came out in 2008 I believe.

Netflix has a shipping center in Baton Rouge.

Supposedly Netflix has some special deal with the postal service to get some kind of priority on delivery due to their volume.

That's why you do the 2 or 3 game deal. You won't be without a game.

Gamefly is obviously not the most convenient method to get games, but it is great for the price.
