another thing about ABC games back then is the announcers calling the game actually called the halftime show too - both bands with analysis and no commercials or scores of other games

Also i think visitors had 10,000 tickets back then and of course they were all together in the lower section. The Ole Miss cheerleaders would haul out cases of rebel flags in tubes and throw them into the stands right before the game

Notice the LSU uniforms with no names on back, plus the number on the helmet ... names and LSU Tiger logo first appeared in 1972. LSU large letters on helmet didn't come about until 1977.

Notice cool SEC logo at mid-field, and the field was painted ... always was for TV games.

Oranges flew ... perhaps as many as in the "fog" game against Florida State in 1982.
