Going into the fantasy baseball season and specifically the draft, what are the deepest positions as far as production goes? And what positions should consider taking off the board relatively early from a lack of quality depth and production?

Deepest 1B
Shallowest SS

4 SS had over a .750 OPS last year, all but 3 of the stat qualified 1B had over .750

Deepest - 1B, SP, OF

Shallowest - SS, C, 3B

2B and 3B certainly aren't "deep" but there is value to be had between 5-10 ranked players at each position.

I figured C would be one of the shallowest.

Catcher is very shallow as well. There's a big dropoff after Mauer, VMart, McCann, and Posey.

SS is just flatout bare.
There's Hanley and Tulo right at the top.
Then there's a decent dropoff to Reyes.
Then after Rollins it's just plan abysmal.

2B

There is actually a lot of power at 2nd, 8 guys hit 18 or more HR at 2nd last year.

my 2B rankings:

Cano
Utley
Uggla (I think he thrives away from Florida)
Pedroia
Kinsler
Phillips
Weeks
Prado

Then Johnson, Hill, Zobrist, etc...

Nope, but name an AL SS you would want on your team. Jeter? No thanks. Andrus? Never.

AL SS has to be the worse league position I have ever seen in my life.
