Fishing this weekend

I've recently just started fishing alone since some of friends up here at LSU don't ever have time between school and their girlfriends. I've started joining fishing education sites and learning a good bit, but one thing that will help me out this weekend is any of y'all have any information on fishing techniques or with no tidal movement particularly where to fish. I'll be in Empire leaving out of my uncles marina, Delta Marina, if anyone has local spots that produce.

The pros will be down there this weekend, just pull up in front of them and start fishing...

What you think about structures to fish you think trout will have moved out into the bays on islands by now or should I just go look for reds in bayous like I did last weekend

I'll meet you there Saturday morning. And I'll point you in the right direction. K. Deal?
But really, the platforms in Breton sound have been producing trout. I'd imagine it woulnt be much different down in empire

Even lately I mean I'm in a 18 foot xpress so its hard when we have a little wind but I know how to fish the rigs its just hard getting out there with 1-2's. I was out there late 2 summers ago went to Breton Island on glass came back in 3-5s at about 5 mph the boat was getting f'in rocked. But i thought trout didn't move out of the estuaries till like april or may

You may just wanna go catch reds. But then again I'm not too familiar with empire/buras/venice

Extremely hit and miss to fish the barrier islands at this time.
Mostly miss. I don't know that area either. I fish out of Four Point.

Saturday is good , especially after 11 30, combination of fallin tide and pressure drop. In the morning drift north in the canal right along the windward shore, reds as the day moves and tide falls try pomme d'or around oyster reefs. black and chart.
I can tell you more later

The problem is there won't be any tide this weekend
Posted on 2/17/11 at 1:53 pm to MadtownTiger
there will be enough to have to water moving, and it will stay moving wont have any dead times. thats why after 11 30 will be lights out, from12 to 3 is a major solunar event as well

Are you familiar with the area do you think there will be any trout action out of the Empire Jetty/Scofield Bay area, or any action on the East side islands like Bay Le Mer
Posted on 2/17/11 at 2:08 pm to MadtownTiger
I think they are starting to trickle in jetties good scofield maybe. I will know by 10 am in the morning. me and one of the kayak guys i am fishing the tourney with talk about that area everyday to kind of track the fish. We are going to start fishing out there 2 weeks. checkin in later i will know more, and plenty by friday. Small trout further north. close to myrtle grove

ya dude let me know what you think tomorrow I mean I got to go down there anyways i left me keys in my boat at the marina. So I'm going try and go see what I can find. But ya I could see yall down there for the kayak tourney, I'm going to start doin my research up here at LSU for my master's and I'm trying to get a subject involving redfish. And it'll be easy way of tagging alot of reds.

first let me be the first to volunteer to help you, second are you open to suggestions on a redfish topic. If so I can start a thread on the kayak website asking what would someone like to see researched. and the club could put together a little outcast tourney and you would have 200 reds in a day easy. That would be really cool, the guys in the club would flip for something like that.

As has been mentioned, April IFA event out of Empire.

Trout ain't nowhere NEAR outside. It's only been "warm" for a week...not even a week. Trout are inside, but will get on the flats when it warms up during the day.
-
Redfish should be going nuts this weekend. I'm going tomorrow with the wife, but I'll be way north of you.
