I saw Anthony Johnson on campus a few days ago and he looks like one of the most solid built football players I've ever seen. I want to know what ya'll think about him pushing for a starting spot. I understand that LSU is absolutely loaded on the D line. But I've seen majority if not all of the players up close and Johnson is head and shoulders more impressively built for his position than all that I have seen with the exception being Ford. But that mans biceps are gigantic. So what do ya'll say, Will Anthony Johnson be a starter as a true freshman? Why or why not?

The fact that his body/skills are college-ready and our lack of depth at DT = Freak playing from the get-go.

probably wont start initially but should play a lot. Takes time to adjust from high school lineman to SEC calibur lineman. If he lives up to the hype though he should see significantly more snaps as the year progresses

Going to be tough keeping Brockers out of that front 4.

Who do you think gets the nod above him?

Brockers and Downs will more than likely start against the Ducks. However, I expect Freak to be in by the 2nd series and then he'll start the rest of the year.

Just curious...since Kendrick Adams started every game at left DE in 2010 why would you think Edwards would beat him out? Edwards became a starter on the right side after Sam Montgomery got hurt.

I would think Adams and Montomery are going to be the starting ends. Lavar Edwards, Kiki Mingo, and Chancey Aghayere will all get playing time. I also suspect the starting tackles for the first game will be Brockers and Downs but its not going to matter because Freak and Ego will get a lot of playing time. IMO the coaches will rotate the DL in and out a lot trying to keep fresh people in the game.
