That's just sick height/talent for a damn HS team

I have played against him and he has great ball handling skills and a very good passer. He is not a scorer but he gets everyone else involved in the offense. He is small but if his quickness can make up for his size he could be a successful college player

This is my lil' cousin. You should've seen how he held down R. Gathers this year. Gathers couldn't do squat and was frustrated the entire game. He's already ranked in the top 10 for his class according to ESPN and will likely be in the top 5 by the time his senior year.

i agree. he can play at lsu, but he isnt anything special. kind of an xavier whipple type

I'll take Stringer out of this if I was you. He can't create his own shot off the dribble either. Stringer will benefit from having a PG like Felix. Although Felix is not the elite of the elite, Felix can create his own shot, penetrate and kick for the open shot, and makes sounds decisions with the ball in hands.

The only drawback to both Stringer and Felix being on the court at the same time is that the backcourt will be greatly undersized.

I also went to the BM-St. Aug game and I have a completely different view of Felix. While he isn't necessarily explosive, I thought he made great decisions and took over the game in spots. I didn't think he was aggressive enough at times, but he seems more like a facilitator than a scorer (although I think he has that ability). I think he would be an asset for Trent Johnson.

He's infinitely more skilled than Xavier Whipple.

Incidently if you check his stats, he did not score in double figues or hall a bunch of assits. He's a good high school player but not a SEC player. Don't fall prey to the hype.

Hi, I'm new to the board and came across this thread. I thought I'd chime on in, I hear what you guys are saying however I’ve been watching Javan since he started playing at St Augustine and my input is do not judge the kid on one ball game. St Aug goes 9 to 10 players deep so there is no need for him to score 20 ppg because we have a balanced team. His job is to lead the team and distribute the ball along with DJ. He’s been rated among the top point guards in the nation since he’s been playing AAU ball and was switched to 2 guard because that’s where he’s needed. He is a heady ball player and does everything Coach Barthe’ asks him to do. If he’s needed to step up and take over a game he does it regardless of who the opponent is. If he’s asked to be the floor general, then that’s what he does. He has great handles and can break down a defense, he his has terrific control when driving to the lane and yes he can sink the three if needed. His game is getting everyone involved and he does that well. IMHO he’s a major college D1 player and LSU would get an excellent PG. Don’t let this kid leave the state! Don’t listen to me though, check out the people who write and make observations on the AAU circuit who has seen the top recruits in action against each other. By the way, he’s received offers from LSU, Ole Miss, and Alabama of the SEC. Baylor, Butler, Oklahoma State, Seton Hall and Tulane have offered already. Kansas fell in love with him and are recruiting him hard. He’s also being recruited by Kentucky, Florida, Arizona, Texas, Michigan, USC and Washington. These recruiters have seen him in more than one ball game. They’ve watched him mature for a few years on the AAU circuit along with watching him during the season. Finally if you caught him during the 5A championship game you'd see what I was talking about. I guess that kind of shoots down the “he couldn’t play in the SEC talk.”
