Making a pig pipe.

5ft length of 4in heavy PVC.
2 screw on caps.
Eye bolt through one end that rotates tied to a small tree with plenty of loop and room to roll it around the tree in a circle. (will change to chain if needed)
4 5/8in holes down the length.
False bottom with holes in it on one end full of rocks and apple slices and pig attractant on a sponge. Rest of the pipe full of corn.
I'm about to find out how smart these suckers actually are.

The pigs will probably just eat it.

Use chain and make sure you have a good swivel at both ends. They beat these things to death and if the chain binds up in any way, (mud, etc) they will break it.

please excuse my ignorance
but what is a pig pipe used for? TIA

i was wondering the same thing but the context clues make me think its just a feeder. sounds like the pigs will destroy it. hope they dont.

Seems like a good idea. Let us know how it does.

I don't think it's just a feeder...more like a bait station...From what I'm reading...it appeals to not only the pig's stomach/appetite but also acts like a toy (not unlike a dog's Kong toy stuffed with a dog biscuit)...Pigs are supposed to be smart...so giving them something to occupy their time while they try to get the food out...makes 'em an easy target...LOL

It also usually keeps them from destroying the feeders in the area.

What he said.
And they will have a hard time destroying this. It's heavy shite. Got the idea from here.

Haven't got any chain so I'm using high strength sailing halyard line. I think it will work better than chain anyway. And if it doesn't, I can just put a new piece on it.

Also digging post holes that I'm putting corn in as I refill them. Corn, dirt, corn, dirt till it's filled. So far with the ones I've done in my trap I'm discovering that GOD DAMNED COONS can dig like a badger. Gonna put big rocks over the one's I'm digging in front of this stand where the pig pipe is going.
I'm setting this spot up in front of the stand where I killed that 300 lb boar. There's another one in there just as big that I'm hoping is a sow but I suspect is a boar too. Not to mention the regular size ones that I intend to turn into sausage. Got to get them into shotgun range though if I'm gonna catch them at night and that's what the rocks are for. Alarm in case I go to sleep in the stand.
I'll let them find it, empty it. Get used to it. Time them with a game cam. Then get a buddy and go ape shite on them one night.

From your link:

After setting up your pig pipe at your selected site, it's easy to determine if the pigs have found it.
Just look for the pig circles....

Is that like crop circles? You think the pigs are trying to communicate?

You can hear pigs working those pipes a LONG way off. Great for a pig hunt and a nap.

Try using soured corn so the raccoons won't be as bad

or you can soak the corn with desiel too. Dosent bother the hogs but everything else will stay away.
