Remind me again how Malcom Jenkins & Patrick Robinson are working out at corner again? Remind me again how healthy or cornerback situations have been the past two seasons?

From the time Jenkins was drafted his future as a safety was talked about. Last year's performance there had many talking him as a soon to be All Pro. Not only did he show he is a solid future there but he still filled in as the nickel guy well when injuries mounted. So CB is not his future but he looks like a solid 1st Rd pick that will lock down the back end for a long time.

Robinson dealt with some injuries but I was well satisfied with what I saw. On a team with pressed circumstances I think he could have easily started. That wasn't needed here. I've seen enough so far to believe he will make it a tough call when it's time for new deals for Greer and Porter.

For Greer last year was the first time he's had injury to slow him. I would say he played through what a lot of guys would have sat out over. His history and performance makes him a write in solid starter, if not potential All Pro.

Porter's skills are unquestioned. The injuries are not so much an issue now but when they come to consider a new deal. A solid injury free year would go a long ways towards that. Another dinged and out a lot year will bring Robinson into the discussion as the guy long term.

So CB stacks up with a 1st Rd pick, a 2nd, and our top free agent signing in the past few years. Ages 23, 24, & 29 I think their best ball is in front of them. I actually think we might have the best group of CBs in the NFL when you weigh all of talent, depth, potential forward, and the contract cost of them.

The pass defense ranked 4th in the NFL, 1st in the NFC. I see very little of that coming from the relentless pressure of the front seven. Their 33 sacks ranked 18th and the pressure was more the result of GW scheming with blitz packages. GW schemes leaves those guys in single coverage prolly as much as any D in the league. That is what made that defensive ranking. I say add a playmaking pass rusher, get the sacks over 40, and GW would not have to blitz as much and when he did it would be even more effective.

Also gotta give Dennis Allen props here as well. I wish him well @ Denver until they play the Saints.
