watching the herd and hes gushing over peterson. calling him the best player he saw in college football last year. comparing him to dale carter and whatnot. simply slurping him.

Yeah He was getting some praise... Compared him to Marcus Allen as well.
Then a caller called in and said that he was great because he was used as PR/KR and a RB in college as well.
I can't say I recall him being used as a RB one time?

:kige:

i've always thought that about cowherd and enjoy listening to him.

he was ripping notre dame back in 07 and they're supposed elite talent. saying how their all-american safety wouldn't even start at LSU.

awww shite. called PP7 205 lbs

peterson is way too close to 220lbs for my liking. i think PP7 ends up as a safety hybrid.

PP is far from the best player in college football; he hit a wall mid season and got burnt in several games. Guess that heisman pose cursed him. I do think he is a good player but far from the best; nothing impressed me about him

Awesome take. Real informed.

The dude sacrified stats (By that, I mean in terms of how he is graded, as outside of thrown at/Completions Against, PBU's, Passes Defended, & INT's, there aren't many measurables on how you're actually performing at CB in the pass game), especially in the 2nd half of the year, during our stretch run.

Look at Alabama. The gameplan was obvious. Julio Jones had been the guy that Alabama used to stretch the field this year heading into the game. LSU lined Peterson up on him & had him play off the entire game. He got 8 grabs for 88 yards or 108 or something like that. But look at how he impacted the game. He was beaten on a perfect throw where Petereson gave up inside where he honestly probably should've had safety help (tip your hat to McElwain on that one, as I think he drew the Safety up. Brandon Taylor was out hurt, & they took advantage. Great playcall), & Julio scored that TD where he worked inside of PP to the back of the end zone on a vertical type route late in the game when they went 2:00 offense.

He made no real game-changing plays for them, & guess what. That's the same thing Peterson did in 2009 in Tuscaloosa. He went out, B Taylor got worked, & the rest is history.

Look back to 2008. Dude gives up a completion in OT that puts Bama 1st & Goal, but he hangs on, determined NOT to let Jones score on him, & never gives up.

Fast Forward back to Texas A&M this year. Gameplan was to play off on his side, perhaps bait some bad throws on pressure coming from the opposite side. Again, uninformed takes-myself included-during the game and a bit afterward made me think he didn't play well. But, rewatch that tape. They gameplanned A&M perfectly on defense. All the TO's are when they went away from PP, & when they went at him, they went underneath. He was making sure the big play didn't happen on his side.

Again, though, great take, Joe Brogan.

Go stand in front of a mirror and repeat "I will not be a noob," over and over until this lame arse sh*t stops spewing forth.

Love cowherd....not b/c he's in love with LSU....he simply tells it like it is. He's a great, even handed guy. If LSU is down, that he's not going to give us props...and he shouldn't.
