At least I hope so...watching some of his highlight videos, that who he reminds me of...what say you?
What was JR's rating coming out of high school? Was he highly recruited? I can't remember...

Josh Reed was a lot bigger than Landry coming out of high school, 200 as compared to 175, and as others have said Reed was also a running back when he was recruited. But Landry doesn't go down easy, at least against his high school competition, just like Reed.

Reed was a third or fourth string tailback until Josh Booty suggested to Dinardo that he would make a good receiver.

I read up on Landry and it basically said that for a guy his size he is a great blocker, very physical and makes catches outside of his body and after watchig some of the cuts he makes when running in the open field, he just reminded me of JR...i guess Skyler Green may even be a more fair comparison...

He also played defense, and honestly i think he has the ability to play that in college too. Obviously he won't, but he has some pretty unbelievable defensive plays on his highlight reel with some devastating tackles.

Yep, I saw him on the defensive side of the ball. Was i seeing things, or was he playing LB in some of those clips?

looked like it, i'm guessing he was more of a nickel though. could be though, it is high school

Better receiver than Josh Reed-Running Back-and Hines Ward-QB-at the same point of their careers. His play is closest to Hines Ward though. Great, physical blocker that runs clean routes, and seems to catch EVERYTHING thrown his way. This kid will be a 3 year starter minimum at LSU.

Jarvis played a lot of linebacker for Lutcher. Safety also. He's a violent defensive player.

He actually scored a couple TD's in mop-up as a RB in 1999 if i remember correctly...?
Or am I thinking of Devery as #25 before he switched to WR and #9?
Comparing Reed to anyone as a WR is very hard to do, basically.

THE best WR I have ever see play @ LSU. The dude was our Jerry Rice.
IMO

Mention Reed's name to an Alabama fan and watch him turn pale.

It was Booty who suggested it but I'm pretty sure it was in the spring of 2000 that he was converted so that would have been Saban and Fisher. They did the same thing with Devery Henderson in the spring of '02.
