SYNM depends alot on the success of the Dynamic Fuels plant located in Geismar, La. The plant is waaay behind schedule and can't seem to get up and running. If and when they finally start producing product, look for SYNM to go up.

Roots-

This is what I keep hearing as well. Being partnered with Tyson also seems like a very big plus.

As far as Mitek goes, all I know is it has a patent on an excellent product that is growing in demand. I use it at least once a month via chase mobile to deposit checks without going to the bank. Very cool product.

That's my amateur 2 cents.

Being partnered with Tyson is a big deal for SYNM, however being so far behind schedule, I'm beginning to worry. I also worry about the demand for their product, once they get going.

Thanks for the lead on Mitek, I'll keep an amateur eye on it.

This may be outdated info, but I thought they were able to produce an fuel usable and deployable without the need for new machinery. i.e. new cars, trucks, separate pumps, ect.

quote:

Tyson and Syntroleum aren't making biodiesel. They use heat to change the molecular structure of fats and oils and then refine them into fuel. They say their brew behaves more like conventional diesel and jet fuel than biodiesel does—meaning it could be used in large quantities in existing pipelines, gas stations, cars, trucks and planes.

So the first is probably a long shot pure gamble, but MITK seems to be earning lately. Am I on to something with this company? Here's a good article to read up on.

RSBR, still going to bite on this?

ETA: I have already gotten in @ $5.90. So far so good...

SYNM:

"Syntroleum Corporation engages in the research, development, and commercialization of the Syntroleum Process that is designed to convert natural gas into synthetic liquid hydrocarbons."

I wouldn't touch this one. Yes, the fundamentals are terrible, but that's not uncommon for a small, speculative company like this.

I'm just not a fan of natural gas. It's too speculative for me. And then this company takes it one step futher and tries to use its already speculative natural gas position to develop some "synthetic liquid hydrocarbons".

I'm just not into alternative energy as an investment yet. I think these are the kinds of things that require a booming economy in order to succeed and we're just not there yet, nor really is the political climate.

MITK is an OTC stock, meaning it's not easy to find a bunch of info. on them without digging into their financials. They aren't profitable and their revenues are sporadic. Is there any reason that they may be profitable in the future? That's the first question I'd be asking.

Never answered your question, but just thought it throw this out there. MITK switched over to NASDAQ and is actually profitable now.

$.01 is better than negative, right.
