Recruits: 22 (21 high school players and one junior college transfer. Three players are already enrolled in school). Top prospects: Anthony Johnson is ranked by ESPN as the No. 1 defensive tackle in the country. La'el Collins is ranked as the No. 3 offensive tackle. Jarvis Landry is ranked as the No. 3 receiver, Kenny Hilliard as the No. 9 running back and Mickey Johnson as the No. 11 defensive tackle. Needs met: Getting former Georgia quarterback Zach Mettenberger in at mid-term was crucial. The Tigers' passing game needs a makeover, and Mettenberger will compete with Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee in the spring for the starting job. Landry gives LSU another big-play threat on the perimeter with Terrence Toliver departing, and the Tigers really helped themselves in the defensive line. Johnson is already enrolled in school and is one of those guys who will probably factor into the tackle rotation immediately. Analysis: In landing defensive end Jermauria Rasco on signing day, LSU put the wraps on one of the most impressive defensive line classes in the country when you throw in Anthony Johnson and Mickey Johnson. There's also Quentin Thomas, who could wind up being an end or tackle. The state of Louisiana was loaded this year, and the Tigers kept most of that talent at home. They signed 17 players from the state and could still add one more. Running back Jeremy Hill, a four-star prospect, didn't sign on Wednesday because of ongoing legal issues. ESPN recruiting grade: B+
We hit on all things we needed with some big name guys....what in the world would give us an A? I dont know about yall but this is the class I think we exactly needed....Ya jernigan would have been nice but I think we are sitting pretty........From all the videos Rasco and Johnson are going to be huge leaders for the team and terrors on the line.

Im starting to care/look at these rankings or grades less and less. Im more excited about this class than many others in the past but its getting lower rankings...couldnt care less. I love the pieces we put together and more important than four stars and five stars and rankings is that our needs were filled. QB, WR, DL, LT...beautiful.

Yeah I agree whatever they say does not matter, especially at rankings seeing how they had ty mat at a 3 star ranking........but here is Miami rankings
Their is no comparison to ours and theres

Recruits: 16 Top prospects: Four-star defensive end Anthony Chickillo, four-star athlete Kevin Grooms and four-star cornerback Dallas Crawford are all members of the ESPNU 150 and ranked among the top 10 in the country at their respective positions. Needs met: The biggest need -- quarterback -- hasn’t been met. Yet. The Canes needed to add depth at defensive end and did that with four in this class. Linebacker was also a priority and Miami signed four. Miami also added two receivers. Analysis: This is a solid class and an impressive one considering the short amount of time coach Al Golden and his staff had to assemble it. With only two players who honored their commitments to the previous staff, Golden had to scramble, and he managed to change the minds of eight players who were committed to other programs. This class is still missing a quarterback, but a scholarship has been reserved should the right one come along. ESPN recruiting grade: B

I guess that's the only reason

USC, Texas got an A
OSU got an A-.
B+ is about right if they are not giving out many A's.

If we would have pulled Jernigan it would have been The most impressive defensive line class....I still think its one of the best if not the best

We can assume then, grades are given relative to a programs ability.

Agreed!
Also really doesnt account for this...Not sure if its just me but it looks like all the guys in this class we got are just good guys...not that are other guys were not but seems like their is alot of humble and leaders in this class

don't think that is by chance either, Coach Miles sets a standard for the character of his teams AS WELL AS the talent.
