I realize this is an LSU recruiting board, but I though some people here might find this interesting.
This reporter says that De'Anthony Thomas will sign with Oregon on Wednesday and that the USC coaching staff is aware of it. LINK

I wonder if they got the text while they were at La'el house wasting their time.

I would choose Oregon over USC due to Kiffin and the sanctions.

It's looking like kids are finally seeing the person Kiffin is

I wonder if he'll play both sides for the Ducks

Can't see it but great tidbit. I'd be very surprised if it happened but I'd certainly be excited. I'm not sure how USC would utilize him in a pro-style offense with his size (you'll find a place for his explosiveness) but he could put up huge numbers in Eugene. If this is true I wonder if Coach Kelly has promised some early PT

I can't wait for Black Mamba to meet the Freak. Or better yet Poppa will be snake hunting.

I think him and steward are the bust prospects of the 2011 class.

Nah, he is the real deal. He has a tremendous amount of heart. I got goosebumps when I saw him vs Dorsey. He would be a superstar at Oregon.

Black Mamba had his arse handed to him by an underclassman at a Nike combine.

He has tremendous speed but he gets injured too easy. He was destroying my high school team until he got injured.

Wouldn't be surprised but I doubt it. Hes been our biggest recruiter all year. I think the issue might be that he really wants to play RB and SC is hoping he plays CB. I still expect him to sign with SC on wednesday.

Yeah this would be great for our recruiting class if we could snatch him up. I'm not so sure he plays CB though. Cliff is a junior and we have a 4* freshman that we redshirted and are going to use next year a lot. Maybe he becomes part of our two back RB set? Tra is going to be a big bruiser for us like Blount was and he can be the quick back like LaMike. That's just my two cents.

if this does happen and it's a battle now, we did get 4* WR Junior Pomee tonight. He will likely play TE

Good SI article describing a 7 0n 7 tourney where Avery Johnson burned De'Anthony "Black Mamba" Thomas:
"Johnson stands 6-2, and he catches everything. Everyone knew he had decent speed before this past weekend, but when Johnson caught a 10-yard pass and outran the entire secondary of a Los Angeles-based team -- every player an elite prospect -- to score a 40-yard touchdown and clinch the BadgerSports Elite 7-on-7 national title, Johnson entered another sphere. Few players in the nation can outrun Crenshaw High's De'Anthony "Black Mamba" Thomas on a football field. Even fewer stand taller than 6-0.
"Avery ran a dig route on [Thomas], caught it in the second window and just ran down the middle of the field for the touchdown," Bridgewater said. "It was just a magnificent play." Said Johnson: "I just turned upfield and burned everybody."'
