maybe its because i got the games off steam, but me2 would not pull over my me1 character.
so quick question about how the game changes based on your me1 choices... if you saved the council in me1 (ultimate paragon) is that still the case in me2?
the defaults for me2 with a male character are:
saved wrex
saved ashley, kaiden dies
sacrificed the destiny ascension (and the council) to focus on sovereign.
recommended udina to the council.
i know the wrex scenario and ashley/kaiden scenario will change based on your me1 choices, but will the rest ?

Any choices that your character made will have an impact on the game. To be honest, things really don't change that much except for who you talk to during certain cutscenes.
This isn't to say that it won't have a significant impact on ME3.
I'm thinking if you saved the council, some of the council races will be more inclined to support Shepard in the fight against the Reapers.
