Im hearing that Mississippi State may be tring to get this kid to visit this weekend. I have looked at his profile and he has an impressive offer list. However I found out he has a lot of legal problems from a fight he was involved in that gave a guy a concussion.

Anybody with any info I appreciate it.

From what I've read, it was more than a concussion. He beat him almost to death. But hey, I'm just a message board poster.

With his history, if LSU offers him, I think it's a waste of a scholarship. JMO. Regardless of his ability.

I think the fight situation is something that could have happened to any of us in high school. Supposedly the kid that was hurt has important parents that made it into the big deal it has become. He is trying to walk a very straight line now.

Very talented player and a gifted athlete. Also very immature and prone to trouble. He is a fierce competitor who likes to hit. He also likes to hit people off the field. His coach kicked him off the team after a few rounds of legal trouble and did not speak highly of him when he did so...inferred that he was a selfish person.

I would proceed with caution. He is a risky take...he could grow, mature, and be a great DB. Then again, he could just as easily be off the team in a year.

He really wants to go to LSU but IMO he would go to Miss State over Nebraska.

I don't think the clear and fully true story on that has come out, nor will it ever come out.

If any team was smart, the most they would offer him is a grey-shirt

I don't believe his coach is that against him. He will do fine here but I won't be surprised if it's next year after a year of Juco! But what do I know living in the area.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but was there not more than one incident? I seem to remember that he had been arrested like 4 times in two years?

Yea, never mind...found it myself:

quote:

Fleming, a two-sport standout in football and track, was arrested for the fourth time in the last six months when he was charged with theft last Thursday. As of Monday night, Fleming remained in the Bossier Parish jail under $5,000 bond. Fleming's transgressions reportedly include contributing to a minor, battery, DUI and now theft.

That was in August of last year.

Has anyone on here ever driven a car after they drank "under the legal limit" and been under age! Well if you get pulled over and do a breath test then you get arrested for being under age! The kid has had some trouble, but he is trying to do right now and grow up. Les runs a very clean program and if for some reason he messes up again then I will be fixed. I would take the risk because I do not believe it is much of a risk. Unless we have 5 star studs waiting in line to get the scholly's left.

That's why you give him a greyshirt and see how he handles it. He doesn't deserve a scholly at this point where he's at now

I'm in Benton. I know his coach. The kid is a problem waiting to happen. Let him go somewhere else.

Driving drunk is stupid and could kill someone, but you don't intend to kill someone. Big difference between that and:

quote:

Caddo Parish Deputies say Fleming attacked the victim on April 10 at a party in a field off Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. Fleming was at the party to fight someone else, stated a news release. However, that person was not at the party, so Fleming randomly attacked the 16-year-old by hitting him in the mouth and kicking him in the head several times, stated a news release. Fleming and the victim did not know each other.

This kid has had plenty of chances and LSU doesn't need to give him another one. He's a knucklehead to put it nicely.

ETA: If we do take him, I'd trust that Miles think he has turned around and is it worth it.

I get your point, but 4 arrests?????

I can sympathize with him for 1, maybe 2... But 4????????????????

Also, the theft stands out the most to me.
