Colt Mccoy 3 stars
Ray Rice 3 stars
Jo JO Lafell 3 stars
Dan Wiiliams 3 stars
Malcom Jenkins 3 stars
Sydney Rice 3 stars
Flacco 3 stars
Matt Ryan 3 stars
and about a billion more
Ok not to mention the 100's of guys they ranked too high. My point being lets not complain to much about this guy or that guy not getting bumped another star. who cares!! By the way max preps had all these guys higher ranked then rivals

My point is the good coaches know way better how to evaluate talent then a rivals recruiting guy or any other service. Myself thinks that Hilliard is not only going to be good but if this guy stays healthy may end up being the first rb taken in a future draft. I watched this guy play and it like a 220 pound bowling ball rolling downhill he is a beast

There's only about 255 or so spots for a guy to be four star or better. Guys that are below that ranking have a greater sample size to be drawn from. It's inevitable that there are going to be some misses. It's just statistics.

Show me the guy who has never misevaluated talent and I'll show you the highest paid employee in the NFL.

I think people say this and dont think about it. Like Chris Rock says "Thats what you suppose to do." People pay ten bucks a month for them to get it right. Thast the value of tehre services. They are the so called experts.
If a doctor lost 10 patients a year and you needed surgery from him.........you wouldnt dare say look at all the lives he saved. you would think about thos ten that he lost. in that one year.
To your point they do it get it right more than they do wrong. But the wrongs are so loud its really embarassing on there behalfs.
I dont get mad at Rivals or Scouts etc for this. They only get limited tapes and stuff so there is no way they can get it right all the time.
BTW the way Aaron Curry and Jason Smith were both underrated and eventually forst rounders.

Rivals is in a freefall right now, and until they guys to replace the ones the left they're going to continue to fall.

Look at the problems the NFL scouts have evaluating talent, and they're looking at a player pool in the hundreds. How many #1 draft picks have been busts? Evaluating high school players and the player pool is in the thousands. It's impossible to predict what some of these kids are going to grow into....their body/size and talent.

I totally understand ripping Rivals for some stuff, but getting some guys ranking wrong is one I don't get. Just look at the NFL draft. There are 4 more years of in-depth evaluation with a more balanced level of competition and a much smaller sampling of players and teams still draft busts.

yeah but there Jobs arent to eval great Pro players its prospects who will go pro.
If you go by that stipulation. no one will ever be right only a handful go pro and actaully make an impact in comparison

I get what you're saying, but comparing doctors to recruiting gurus is not the same.
First off, one is a science and the other is a guessing game.

I think they'd disagree with you.
A LARGE chunk of their evaluations are based on guys who they think will be stars at the next two levels... which is why they hate on a guy like Landry (because they don't think he has the athletic tools to be an NFL star).

If thats the case, we have already accepted that they cant be right. I dotn know what you are basing a successful nfl career from but I dont you can predict this from a kid iin High school. Then when you suck say i got it right most of the time. Its a dumb game.
I only hold Rivals to the expectations of dominant collegic ball players. And they still are 60/40 with them.
