about LSU or points out something negative, are they often labeled a hack, moron, douche, incompetent, LSU hater, or whatever? I thought the Rant would be the perfect place to ask. I am not talking specifically about today's aricle.

This is simply not true. You just either can't read, or have an agenda. I'm actually going with both. You performance in the Guilbeau thread was pathetic.

Because only we are able to be negative about the Tigers (of course that makes us Negatigers, but not quite as bad).

LSU fans have long carried a chip on our collective shoulders. I don't know the origin of the infliction but it is as real as the Tiger we parade before games.

The chip isn't a bad thing in and of itself but it does reveal that some of us can be a bit thin skinned at times.

a lot of things said are true, but there has been so much biased against us and the SEC at times that it has become a sensitive point....
sometimes it was not as much "AGAINST" LSU/SEC as commentators pushing their own agenda/school.

*2003 NC is a good example.
*the USC propaganda which used to exist (until the sanctions) and the perennial push of Ohio St by Herbie and others is also a good example.
...the sensitivity lingers although a lot of those efforts has dwindled and let's not forget that we are in the "dirty south" and a lot of the commentators are EAST coast, WEST coast..

A writer can certainly be a hack, moron, douche, incompetent, while writing only positive things about LSU.

The specific article you referenced was a shameful cry for attention - and that characterization is independent of the (pro or con) slant of the article.

What I love about the particular author in question is that during the season when most LSU fans were ready to take Miles' head off, he spun things positively, now that everyone loves Les he goes negative.

I completely agree with you on that point and that's why I said having a chip on your shoulder is not always a negative thing to carry.

The examples you listed are all valid. I just wish some of us, myself included at times, would stop looking for reasons to feel insulted. We're LSU and we should generate our value from within and not look to outside sources to tell us we're OK.

Using that as an example- how is that anti-LSU? LSU followed up it's 2003 AP NC with an undefeated season and blow-out of OU. They won 13 more straight games before losing to UT. The following season, they were one completed pass against UCLA from gettting in another BCS NC game. Before 2003, they were also 11-2 and won a BCS bowl. At one point, they won 37 straight games and were something like 84 or so and 7 and went to eight straight BCS bowls, winning seven of them convincingly. Meanwhile, LSU followed up the 03 BCS NC with a subpar season and bowl loss. If the roles were reversed, LSU would have gotten the attention.

tang, I live in So. Cal and there is no where in the world where more people have drank the proverbial cool-aid than here in the land of USC fans. LSU fans are just honest - they call it as they see it - and Glen is all that they say and probably worse.

Look here you hack, moron, douche, incompetent, LSU hater of a poster. It's not that no one can say anything negative about LSU. It's that this has been Guilbeau's mo since Miles has been here. His little bitch arse NEVER wrote a negative article about his Lord Saban. Hell, he still sucks him off even after Miles beats him.
